How foolish we were, to act as gods.

This book is a combination of my expectations that I would love to read in a book. Does that even make a sense? I love seeing the lack of humanity in this book and how it criticize our current one. It's diverse and it's quite not at the same time. The clones, or Homo factus have been inhabiting the Earth for 3 centuries after the Slow Plague killed all human beings. Before it could kill anyone else, the scientists made clones as the next generation of Earth inhabitants using the DNA of several people. Little did they know that keep copying the genes over and over again for three straight centuries degrades their qualities and threatens their lives. Is that why Jack, the one and only human being in Vispera, exists? This story is such a bomb. I didn't expect myself liking it since it's a debut novel that I requested from NetGalley, but I did. The following point of views are Jack and Althea-310, one of 10 clones of Gen-310 from Althea personality. Hard to grasp, isn't it? Basically there are 9 models, and over generation, the 9 models have produced 310 Gens over the 3 centuries, and each models have their so-called sister/brother consist of 10 people. Yes. I know, I know.

But once you dive into this book, everything will make a clear sense! It's dangerous and mind-racing if that's even a term. The plot keeps on moving and there are so many fights! Since basically all 10 sisters/brothers have same physical appearance and similar behavior, I can't say that this book provides me with many choices of characters to like. What makes it diverse is that each clones are different from their races and ethnics. It's like combining every races possible in this Earth. Cool, right? Jack is a lovely person but a bit aggressive. He dreads for love and he dreads for acceptance. Eventually he has to learn on how to live relying on his own self and Sam (sometimes). That's before he meets Althea-310, a girl who flips his world upside down. I can't say that they involved in many romantic scenes since this book is actually lacking of it, but you can just sense their radiance and you just want to protect these two creatures.

You will love this book if you love dystopian genre and basically...ugh JUST READ IT. I expect a sequel because cliffhanger but I don't know if it will come out :(
