Feeling nostalgic with my childhood, I decided to do ATLA Book Tag. I really missed these characters so much and I plan on rewatching it after this semester has ended. Pray for me guys, I'd still be alive at the end of semester.
Let's get going!
WATER
Katara and Sokka - Best sibling relationship.
I have many books on the list, because sibling relationship is one of my favorite book trope ever. I love the Weasleys from Harry Potter, I love how Penryn would shatter the world to save her sister, Paige, on Angelfall. I extremely adore Katniss and Prim especially. But one book that's so special and how the ending turned out, a sibling's love that could literally save the world is The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.
Cassie has sacrificed so much for Sam, the only person she's got. When Sam is kidnapped, she'd do anything to get him back and protect him at all cost.
And seeing how everything ended on The Last Star, I just cannot get enough of their relationship. I wept and I wept. And I wept.
Cassie is a manifestation of a sister I would love to be.
Blood bending - a book with a disturbing concept
The easy one that comes to my mind is 13 Reasons why by Jay Asher. I just disagree how Hannah passes the tapes and basically does the blaming like it's a revenge for everyone who had hurt her. I'm totally against bullying, but facing a bullying with another bully so that person can feel guilty for the rest of their lives because they'd feel like they have taken someone else's life is just sickening.
Especially the tv show which contains graphic scene on how Hannah cut her wrists and the image on how kids nowadays are. I mean, not to be unrealistic, I know that kids have degradation of moral but I am still in denial on how they portrays my generation. It sucks
EARTH
Toph – A character who’s strength surprised you/or surprised the other characters in the book
Maybe Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles. She has the greatest character development of all time. I didn't quite like the first book but toward the second and third book, she has grown so much into a reliable leader that'd willingly command the entire crew of the ship and she's so badass I'm in love My kid.
The Tales of Ba Sing Se – best short story/poetry collection
I originally would answer this to an Indonesian poetry, but since you guys might have never heard of it, the best I can offer is Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. It makes me very nostalgic and it doesn't contain cheap free verse poetry. Each poetry contains of meaningful deep message for me and that;'s something I can barely receive from any other poetry.
Kioshi Warriors - Best warrior character
Easy answer? Percy Jackson. A time-consuming-and-needs-to-be-replayed-on-my-head answer is Kestrel from The Winner trilogy. She's gone through some crazy development, and although she doesn't necessarily raise a sword nor a bow, she's my true heroine I miss my kid :(
FIRE
Zuko - Best redemption arc/a redemption arc that should have happened
LUKE CASTELLAN HOLY SHIT. HOW THINGS ENDED AT THE FIFTH BOOK OF PERCY JACKSON DESTROYED ME. IT DESTROYED ME AND LEFT ME IN SOBBING TINY PIECES.
Iroh - Wisest character
Albus Dumbledore! I mean, what do you expect?????
Azula - Best downfall
DIVERGENT. FIGHT ME!
AIR
Appa - Favorite fictional animal
My all-time favorite animal would be Blackjack the Pegasus from Percy Jackson. I'd marry that fucking horse, no kidding. He's hilarious as hell and a trash for donuts I can't comprehend my love for him for God's sake.
Aang - Purest cinnamon roll
Trevor from Pivot Point duology by Kasie West? Yeah he's this cute piece of strawberry dipped in a bowl of chocolate. Undoubtedly.
Avatar state - A stubborn character/a character that struggles with letting go
I don't know, Rose Calloway from Calloway Sister by Krista and Becca Ritchie probably. She's so stubborn but also is so clever and I love her so much.
